Interlibrary Loans

If the Moose Jaw Public Library does not have the book you need, we will try to borrow the book from another library! 

Can't find it in our catalogue? Fill out this form to request an Interlibrary Loan, or bring the title and author to the Information Desk or telephone the library at (306) 692-2787.

What can I get?

  • Books published more than a year ago (we will consider purchasing newer items)

  • Photocopies of magazine and newspaper articles

  • Microfilm/fiche of genealogical materials

  • DAISY CD's for the visually impaired (borrowed from the CNIB)

What can't I get?

  • Books published in current or preceding year

  • DVDs

  • CDs

What is the cost?

  • There is no cost to borrow a book from another library.

How long does it take?

  • It varies depending on where the book is coming from and how popular the item is. 

  • You will be notified when the book arrives, or if we are not able to get it. 

How long can I keep it?

  • Books may be kept for three weeks.

Can it be renewed?

  • We can contact the lending library to ask for a renewal. Many libraries will allow one renewal.

Do late fees apply?

  • Late fees are charged on interlibrary loans materials.
