Among the most acclaimed and celebrated period dramas of the last few years, Céline Sciamma’s Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a captivating, sizzling feminist love story about an isolated aristocrat whose fate is dictated by the powers around her and the painter commissioned to render her portrait. Shot with a beauty and elegance befitting its’ artistic subject, it stars Adèle Haenel and Noémie Merlant in a couple of the best performances of 2019. Presented in French with English subtitles. Showtime begins at 6:00 with a discussion afterwards at approximately 8:00.
