Winter/Spring 2012 Children’s Programming Schedule Available

All programs are free of charge, but some require registration. Register online, in person, or by phone at 692-2787. Registration begins January 7 for all programs except Preschool Storytime.  Food and snacks may be served at some of our programs, so please advise staff at registration if your child has any allergies.  Children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Weekly Preschool Storytime

Ages 2-5 with parents

Meet with other parents and children for  stories, songs, rhymes and playtime.

10-11 am, Tuesdays or Wednesdays

Session 1: Feb. 7/8 – Mar. 13/14

Registration begins Saturday, Jan. 21 at 9:30am.

Session 2: Apr. 17/18 – May 22/23

Registration begins Saturday, Mar. 31 at 9:30 am.

Teddy Bears’ Picnic

Wednesday, Feb. 15, 4:30-5:30pm.

Bring your best stuffed friend to the library for a special storytime with games, a craft and a snack!  Registration required.  All children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please advise us of any food allergies at time of registration.

Dinosaur Mania!

Wednesday Mar. 28, 4:30-5:30pm.

Come celebrate all things dino with dino stories, dino games and a dino craft! It’ll be dino-mite! Registration required.  All children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please advise us of any food allergies at time of registration.

The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Wednesday, May 9, 4:30-5:30pm.

Follow Alice down the hole to Wonderland and the strangest Tea Party ever!  Registration required.  All children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please advise us of any food allergies at time of registration.

Make a Secret Hollow Book!

Wednesday, Mar. 14,  4:30-6pm.

Have you always wanted a secret hollow book like spies have in movies? Now’s your chance! We’ll supply all the materials, or if you want to use a particular book, you can bring your own hardcover.  Registration required. Please advise us of any food allergies at time of registration.

Titanic!

Wednesday, Apr. 18,4:30-6pm.

This year is the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic and we’re remembering it in style! Be prepared for anything – it’s a night to remember! Registration required. Please advise us of any food allergies at time of registration.

Horsing Around

Wednesday, May 20, 4:30-6pm

Crazy about horses? So is Lori. Join us for a celebration of all things equestrian!  Registration required. Please advise us of any food allergies at time of registration.

For Older Kids

Book Club for Ages 9-14

Sunday, Feb 12, 1:30-3:00 pm

Join us for our first ever kids’ book club! We’ll be reading From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweilier by E.L. Konigsburg. It’s the story of a brother and sister who run away from home to live in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. There, they stumble on a mystery that just has to be solved. Copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk starting January 9. We’ll meet on February 12 to talk about the book. Registration required. Please advise us of any food allergies at time of registration.

TD Summer Reading Club

Wow!  There are almost 200 kids registered for the TD Summer Reading Club at the Moose Jaw Public Library already!

Due to popular demand we are adding 2 more programs to the summer schedule:

On Tuesday July 19th, the Playful Pirates program at 2pm is full, so we are going to be doing the program again from 3:30-4:30pm. Registration is still required.

On Tuesday August 9th, the Summer Science program at 2pm is full, so we are going to be doing the program again from 3:30-4:30pm. Registration is still required.

Choose from one of three six-week sessions!
Thursday Evenings, 5:15-6:15 pm, May 5th—June 9th,
Tuesday Mornings, 10:15-11:15 am, May 10th—June 14th, and
Wednesday Mornings, 10:15-11:15 am, May 11th—June 15th

These programs require registration.
